LR- Editing video

Teacher Response

    • Foley sound! Silence of early shots not ideal. Audiences except a little atmosphere.
    • Excellent continuity editing in the opening 10 seconds
    • Do we break the 108 degree rule between door and conversation?
    • Framing of over the shoulder shots could be little higher
    • Really enjoyed the conversation - the shots of the time being passes across work really well.
Student Response
WWW
Match on action
Kept good pace + was comedic
Good creative response to the brief
Smooth editing, humorous
Good use of shots and angles
Good Framing

EBI
Lack of audio
Stick to 180 rule
Dead space sometimes
Cuts were a bit scruffy and close up of card was scruffy.

3) Now reflect on your video. Did you meet the brief and successfully include the three key editing aspects we have learned?
I met the brief quite well like the match on action was alright however i could have done a better job with the 180 rule since i broke and I could framed the over the shoulder shot better.

4) What were the strengths and weaknesses of your final film? Write a detailed analysis picking out specific shots, edits and any other aspect of film language you think is relevant.
I believe I did the match on action quite accurate and all the scene very smooth however I could have done a better job when doing the 180 shot

5) Learner response: what aspect of editing did you find most difficult? What have you learned from this process that will help you when you start the actual coursework later this year?

Trying to do the 180 rule definitely is harder then it seems and in my coursework I'll make sure to ut accurate and also remember to take alot of shots.
