Mise-en-scene makeover: Learner response
Teacher's Response
6) Finally, what have you learned regarding the importance of mise-en-scene to character, narrative and the creation of star personas in film and television?
- Audio worth well for a timelaspe
- Framing of shot is generally good- mostly central and medium close up
- Close thought into background with backing curtain although be aware of the wider shots that reveal edges of this
- The trailer-style editing- amazing! Great editing, timed to the music, use of professional-looking titles...wow!
- The make up also looks brilliant although 'd like to have seen a couple more close-ups in the sequence at the end.

Self- Assessment
To make my video better I should have kept the camera fixed in one place when recording the timelaspe of the make up and made sure the make up was done quicker because there was a lot of unnecessary footage to work with and rendering took a very long time. Also when recording the final bit I could have done more close up shots cause from the "trailer" it seemed as if it anyone was running around and not specific to who the character was and also the make up couldn't be seen.
4) Now reflect on your own work in more detail. How did your star persona mood board planning help clarify and develop your ideas?
The mood board wasn't was planned very good because most of the video was improvised and some of the shots were improvisation therefore next time I would like to plan the video project in more dept.
5) Thinking technically, how could you improve your work for future videos? (E.g. filming, editing, sound etc.)
5) Thinking technically, how could you improve your work for future videos? (E.g. filming, editing, sound etc.)
The filming of the video could have improved by not changing camera angle has much and doing more close shots for the final part
6) Finally, what have you learned regarding the importance of mise-en-scene to character, narrative and the creation of star personas in film and television?
Costume and make up is very important for mise-en-scene so when doing a mise-en-scene for a character make sure the make up is good and portrays what you envisioned same with costume. Also when doing mise-en-scene you have to portray the character well so doing close up and long shots are vital
